Audi Snyman Interior Design was briefed to curate an extraordinary contemporary interior for Maison Benie — a breath-taking 1,800sqm luxury family home that incorporates multiple bespoke features. The home owners expressed the desire for inner spaces that exuded individuality and understated opulence, while at the same time reflecting their taste for the finer things in life and their deep family values.
As passionate entertainers of family and friends, the clients sought communal spaces that were eye-catching, versatile and fabulous, yet conveniently, yet presented a perfect marriage of functionality and art.
A golden thread runs through the home, punctuating the theme of class and quality. The perfect blending of textures, soft furnishings, colours, patterns and textures contribute to detailing spaces throughout the house that include relaxation infused with fiery dramatic pauses.
The colour contrasts, often black and white, sometimes with a splash of vibrant colour create a modern and contemporary feel across the expansive interiors, emphasised by the large glass windows and doors that feature throughout.
A place to be entertained and to entertain, in grand style. The two adjacent bars — a gentleman’s bar and the ladies’ champagne bar — reflect the unique personalities of the husband and wife team. Both bar spaces have been curated to provide each host with an environment that offers seven star entertainment to their guests.
The seven star experience continues in the wine cellar, that features a state-of-the-art poker table as centre piece amidst a stellar wine collection displayed and stored in a perfectly temperature-controlled environment.
The home’s entertainment offering includes a custom-built home theatre that oozes comfort and offers an immersive and epic cinematic experience for all ages.
The guest bathroom is set to create its very own designer trends with its Vanilla Noir Caesarstone, gold finishes and unique features and fittings.
The luxurious wall finishes include classic wallpapers, countertops and stone cladding. Multiple items within the home have been custom designed and produced and the many bronze accents, brass wall art, paintings, sculptures, vanities and wall units are one of a kind pieces.
No cost was spared in the creation of a comprehensive home environment featuring a swimming pool, indoor and outdoor work out area and a sauna.
The spacious home spa incorporates a hair salon, a professional therapy room, all rooted in nature and seamlessly spilling over into the outdoors.
The warmth of the interiors flows into the guest bedrooms where the perfect combination of colour, textures and luxurious comfort ensures guests feel at home in the knowledge that they are welcome.
The master suite encapsulates the perfect balance between magnificent and custom-made comfort offering an impressive, peaceful and personal space to escape. The unique interiors compliment the family lifestyle, high-end bespoke pieces, creating spaces that are both luxurious and inviting.
Each unique light, in every room across the home, has been individually selected to contribute to the different atmospheres in the interior spaces they shine upon.
The spacious boutique style walk-in closets and dressing areas lead to a luxuriously finished bathroom with a his and her area, and is keeping with the rest of the house effortlessly merging form and function.
The top floor of Maison Benie comprises the family’s private spaces, with pyjama lounge forming the nucleus that leads to children’s bedrooms and additional guest rooms.
Each of the five bedrooms upstairs has been designed around the family member, to ensure the interior unique character and preferences are reflected in the interiors. Each bedroom also boasts its own en-suite, with high-end bathroom finishes, fixtures and fittings.
The outdoor areas at the front of the house include two rooftop lounges and a barbecue area with beautiful views of the Gauteng vistas.
A covered patio and an open patio with a covered option overlook a sunken outdoor boma with a fireplace. The outdoor swimming pool is overlooked by custom-made statues. Maison Benie has been designed and curated so that the entire home enjoys the perfect outdoor and indoor connection.
Adjacent to the entrance hall is a spacious customised showroom style garage designed to house six luxury cars.
